Sangli

Sangli is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Sangli is 8,572 km² including 8,217.72 km² rural area and 354.28 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Sangli has a population of 28,22,143 peoples, out of which urban population is 7,19,357 while rural population is 21,02,786. Sangli has a sex ratio of approximately 965 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 329.2 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,98,386 houses in the district, including 1,55,950 urban houses and 4,42,436 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 725 villages in sangli district.
