Sindhudurg is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Sindhudurg is 5,207 km² including 5,142.71 km² rural area and 64.29 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Sindhudurg has a population of 8,49,651 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,07,006 while rural population is 7,42,645. The district has a population density of 163.2 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,09,839 houses in the district, including 26,638 urban houses and 1,83,201 rural houses.
