Solapur

Solapur is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Solapur is 14,895 km² including 14,531.91 km² rural area and 363.09 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Solapur has a population of 43,17,756 peoples, out of which urban population is 13,99,091 while rural population is 29,18,665. Solapur has a sex ratio of approximately 938 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 289.9 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 8,73,167 houses in the district, including 2,79,607 urban houses and 5,93,560 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,143 villages in solapur district.
