As per 2011 stats, Fatehgarh Sahib has a population of 6,00,163 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,85,482 while rural population is 4,14,681. The district has a population density of 509 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,18,100 houses in the district, including 39,103 urban houses and 78,997 rural houses.
