Patiala is an administrative district in Punjab, India. The district is located about 65 km from Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab. Its administrative headquarters is in Patiala. Punjabi and Hindi are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,325 km², including 3,169.81 km² of rural area and 155.19 km² of urban area.
