Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is a district in the Rajasthan State of India. Total area of Jaisalmer is 38,401 km² including 38,330.62 km² rural area and 70.38 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Jaisalmer has a population of 6,69,919 peoples, out of which urban population is 89,025 while rural population is 5,80,894. Jaisalmer has a sex ratio of approximately 852 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 17 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,17,171 houses in the district, including 16,744 urban houses and 1,00,427 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 756 villages in jaisalmer district.

The Jaisalmer district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
