Krishnagiri is a district in the Tamil Nadu State of India. Total area of Krishnagiri is 5,129 km² including 4,965.73 km² rural area and 163.27 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Krishnagiri has a population of 18,79,809 peoples, out of which urban population is 4,28,363 while rural population is 14,51,446. Krishnagiri has a sex ratio of approximately 957 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 367 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,48,053 houses in the district, including 1,05,194 urban houses and 3,42,859 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 602 villages in krishnagiri district.
