North Tripura

North Tripura is a district in the Tripura State of India. Total area of North Tripura is 2,036 km² including 1,972.28 km² rural area and 63.72 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, North Tripura has a population of 6,93,947 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,20,285 while rural population is 5,73,662. North Tripura has a sex ratio of approximately 966 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 340.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,52,355 houses in the district, including 28,731 urban houses and 1,23,624 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 166 villages in north tripura district.

The North Tripura district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes. In India, the Block or C.D.Block is often the next level of administrative division after the tehsil. It is important to note that, In some states of India C.D.Blocks are equal to tehsils.
