South Tripura

South Tripura is a district in the Tripura State of India. Total area of South Tripura is 3,057 km² including 2,978.37 km² rural area and 78.63 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, South Tripura has a population of 8,76,001 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,23,031 while rural population is 7,52,970. South Tripura has a sex ratio of approximately 957 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 286.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,08,127 houses in the district, including 31,897 urban houses and 1,76,230 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 268 villages in south tripura district.

The South Tripura district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes. In India, the Block or C.D.Block is often the next level of administrative division after the tehsil. It is important to note that, In some states of India C.D.Blocks are equal to tehsils.
