Aligarh is a district in the Uttar Pradesh State of India. Total area of Aligarh is 3,650 km² including 3,423.12 km² rural area and 226.88 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Aligarh has a population of 36,73,889 peoples, out of which urban population is 12,17,191 while rural population is 24,56,698. Aligarh has a sex ratio of approximately 882 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1007 inhabitants per square kilometre.
