Azamgarh

Azamgarh is a district in the Uttar Pradesh State of India. Total area of Azamgarh is 4,054 km² including 3,967.23 km² rural area and 86.77 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Azamgarh has a population of 46,13,913 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,93,401 while rural population is 42,20,512. Azamgarh has a sex ratio of approximately 1019 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1138 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,65,232 houses in the district, including 53,644 urban houses and 6,11,588 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 3,800 villages in azamgarh district.
