Kannauj is a district in the Uttar Pradesh State of India. Total area of Kannauj is 2,093 km² including 2,018.82 km² rural area and 74.18 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Kannauj has a population of 16,56,616 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,80,841 while rural population is 13,75,775. The district has a population density of 792 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,80,928 houses in the district, including 47,182 urban houses and 2,33,746 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 688 villages in kannauj district.
