Mau

Mau is a district in the Uttar Pradesh State of India. Total area of Mau is 1,713 km² including 1,619.79 km² rural area and 93.21 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Mau has a population of 22,05,968 peoples, out of which urban population is 4,99,208 while rural population is 17,06,760. Mau has a sex ratio of approximately 978 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1288 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,24,424 houses in the district, including 70,779 urban houses and 2,53,645 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,499 villages in mau district.

The Mau district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
