Muzaffarnagar District is an administrative district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated about 440 km from Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is located at Muzaffarnagar. Hindi is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 4,008 km², including 3,867.59 km² of rural area and 140.41 km² of urban area.
