Dehradun

Dehradun is a district in the Uttarakhand State of India. Total area of Dehradun is 3,088 km² including 2,815.70 km² rural area and 272.30 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Dehradun has a population of 16,96,694 peoples, out of which urban population is 9,41,941 while rural population is 7,54,753. Dehradun has a sex ratio of approximately 901 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 549 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,47,001 houses in the district, including 2,02,889 urban houses and 1,44,112 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 731 villages in dehradun district.

The Dehradun district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
