Bankura

Bankura is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of Bankura is 6,882 km² including 6,791.53 km² rural area and 90.47 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Bankura has a population of 35,96,674 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,99,773 while rural population is 32,96,901. Bankura has a sex ratio of approximately 956 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 522.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 7,66,902 houses in the district, including 65,743 urban houses and 7,01,159 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 3,585 villages in bankura district.

The Bankura district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
