Hugli

Hugli is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of Hugli is 3,149 km² including 2,819.97 km² rural area and 329.03 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Hugli has a population of 55,19,145 peoples, out of which urban population is 21,28,499 while rural population is 33,90,646. Hugli has a sex ratio of approximately 960 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1753 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 12,87,423 houses in the district, including 5,05,943 urban houses and 7,81,480 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,842 villages in hugli district.
