Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of Jalpaiguri is 6,227 km² including 5,859.70 km² rural area and 367.30 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Jalpaiguri has a population of 38,72,846 peoples, out of which urban population is 10,60,351 while rural population is 28,12,495. Jalpaiguri has a sex ratio of approximately 952 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 621.9 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 8,68,326 houses in the district, including 2,43,311 urban houses and 6,25,015 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 718 villages in jalpaiguri district.
