Maldah

Maldah is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of Maldah is 3,733 km² including 3,646.91 km² rural area and 86.09 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Maldah has a population of 39,88,845 peoples, out of which urban population is 5,41,660 while rural population is 34,47,185. Maldah has a sex ratio of approximately 944 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1069 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 8,46,991 houses in the district, including 1,12,784 urban houses and 7,34,207 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,613 villages in maldah district.
