Purba Medinipur

Purba Medinipur is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of Purba Medinipur is 4,713 km² including 4,488.69 km² rural area and 224.31 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Purba Medinipur has a population of 50,95,875 peoples, out of which urban population is 5,92,714 while rural population is 45,03,161. Purba Medinipur has a sex ratio of approximately 937 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1081 inhabitants per square kilometre.
