Puruliya

Puruliya is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of Puruliya is 6,259 km² including 6,111.47 km² rural area and 147.53 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Puruliya has a population of 29,30,115 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,73,314 while rural population is 25,56,801. Puruliya has a sex ratio of approximately 957 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 468.1 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,67,824 houses in the district, including 71,988 urban houses and 4,95,836 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 2,459 villages in puruliya district.
