Ganderbal is a district in the Jammu & Kashmir State of India. Total area of Ganderbal is 259 km² including 233.60 km² rural area and 25.40 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Ganderbal has a population of 2,97,446 peoples, out of which urban population is 47,039 while rural population is 2,50,407. The district has a population density of 1148 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 45,361 houses in the district, including 6,966 urban houses and 38,395 rural houses.
