Wayanad District, Kerala

Wayanad District is an administrative district in the state of Kerala, India. It is situated about 420 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala. The district headquarters is located at Kalpetta. Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Paniya and Kurichiya are among the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 2,130 km², including 2,089.26 km² of rural area and 40.74 km² of urban area.
