Kargil District, Ladakh

Kargil District is an administrative district in the union territory of Ladakh, India. It is situated about 230 km from Leh, the capital of the Union Territory. The district headquarters is located at Kargil. Balti, Shina, Ladakhi and Urdu are among the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 14,036 km², including 14,033.86 km² of rural area and 2.14 km² of urban area.

Population of Kargil District
