Gondiya is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Gondiya is 5,234 km² including 5,139.84 km² rural area and 94.16 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Gondiya has a population of 13,22,507 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,25,930 while rural population is 10,96,577. The district has a population density of 252.7 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,92,369 houses in the district, including 48,529 urban houses and 2,43,840 rural houses.
