South Garo Hills

South Garo Hills is a district in the Meghalaya State of India. Total area of South Garo Hills is 1,887 km² including 1,878.20 km² rural area and 8.80 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, South Garo Hills has a population of 1,42,334 peoples, out of which urban population is 13,131 while rural population is 1,29,203. South Garo Hills has a sex ratio of approximately 945 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 75.43 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 24,527 houses in the district, including 2,351 urban houses and 22,176 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 731 villages in south garo hills district.
