Basti

Basti is a district in the Uttar Pradesh State of India. Total area of Basti is 2,688 km² including 2,662.04 km² rural area and 25.96 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Basti has a population of 24,64,464 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,38,097 while rural population is 23,26,367. Basti has a sex ratio of approximately 963 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 917 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,82,212 houses in the district, including 21,575 urban houses and 3,60,637 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 3,160 villages in basti district.
