Meerut

Meerut is a district in the Uttar Pradesh State of India. Total area of Meerut is 2,559 km² including 2,300.83 km² rural area and 258.17 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Meerut has a population of 34,43,689 peoples, out of which urban population is 17,59,182 while rural population is 16,84,507. Meerut has a sex ratio of approximately 886 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1346 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,79,110 houses in the district, including 3,07,431 urban houses and 2,71,679 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 604 villages in meerut district.
