Cachar District, Assam

Cachar District is an administrative district in the state of Assam, India. It is situated about 340 km from Dispur, the state capital of Assam. The district headquarters is located at Silchar. Bengali, Assamese and Bishnupriya Manipuri are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,786 km², including 3,721.41 km² of rural area and 64.59 km² of urban area.
