Kanniyakumari District, Tamil Nadu

Kanniyakumari District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 700 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Nagercoil. Tamil and Malayalam are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 1,684 km², including 1,021.16 km² of rural area and 662.84 km² of urban area.
