Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu

Thiruvarur District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 320 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Thiruvarur. Tamil is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 2,274 km², including 2,171.40 km² of rural area and 102.60 km² of urban area.
