Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu

Thanjavur District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 320 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Thanjavur. Tamil is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,411 km², including 3,044.54 km² of rural area and 366.46 km² of urban area.
