Perambalur is an administrative district in Tamil Nadu, India. The district is located about 270 km from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Its administrative headquarters is in Perambalur. Tamil is the major language spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 1,756 km², including 1,672.33 km² of rural area and 83.67 km² of urban area.
