Tiruchirappalli is an administrative district in Tamil Nadu, India. The district is located about 330 km from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Its administrative headquarters is in Tiruchirappalli. Tamil is the major language spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 4,509 km², including 4,042.74 km² of rural area and 466.26 km² of urban area.
