Chitrakoot District, Uttar Pradesh

Chitrakoot is an administrative district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The district is located about 270 km from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Its administrative headquarters is in Karwi. Hindi and Bundeli are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,216 km², including 3,187.23 km² of rural area and 28.77 km² of urban area.
