Gorakhpur District, Uttar Pradesh
Gorakhpur District is an administrative district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated about 270 km from Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is located at Gorakhpur. Hindi, Bhojpuri and Avadhi are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,321 km², including 3,106.35 km² of rural area and 214.65 km² of urban area.
