Basti District, Uttar Pradesh

Basti is an administrative district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The district is located about 200 km from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Its administrative headquarters is in Basti. Hindi, Avadhi and Bhojpuri are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 2,688 km², including 2,662.04 km² of rural area and 25.96 km² of urban area.
