Azamgarh District, Uttar Pradesh

Azamgarh District is an administrative district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated about 240 km from Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is located at Azamgarh. Hindi and Bhojpuri are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 4,054 km², including 3,967.23 km² of rural area and 86.77 km² of urban area.
