Purulia District, West Bengal
Purulia District is an administrative district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated about 300 km from Kolkata, the state capital of West Bengal. The district headquarters is located at Purulia. Bengali, Sadri and Santhali are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 6,259 km², including 6,111.47 km² of rural area and 147.53 km² of urban area.
