Goa

Goa is an Indian State located in the Western region of India. Goa state is established on 30-May-1987 and the capital of Goa is Panaji. Goa is a small and beautiful state, famous for its stunning beaches and lively atmosphere. It's where you can enjoy swimming in the sea, building sandcastles, and watching beautiful sunsets. Goa is also known for its fun parties and delicious seafood, making it a fantastic holiday destination! The major cities of Goa include Panaji (Panjim), Vasco da Gama, Margao etc., while the largest city in the state is Vasco da Gama.

Total area of Goa is 3,702 km² including 2,937.21 km² rural area and 764.79 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Goa has a population of 14,58,545 peoples, out of which urban population is 9,06,814 while rural population is 5,51,731. Goa has a sex ratio of approximately 973 females for every 1,000 males. There are about 3,43,611 houses in the state, including 2,15,403 urban houses and 1,28,208 rural houses.

Konkani is the official language of Goa, which is spoken by the majority of the population. As per ISO 3166-2:IN standard - the ISO code of Goa is IN-GA. Goa state is further divided in to districts for administrative purposes. South Goa is the largest district of Goa covering area of 1966 km² while North Goa is the smallest district of Goa covering area of 1736 km². North Goa is the most populous whereas South Goa is the least populous district in Goa state.
