Goa

Goa is a state located in the western region of India. It was established on 30-May-1987. The capital of the state is Panaji. Vasco da Gama is the largest city. The official language is Konkani. An additional official language is Marathi. Major rivers of Goa include Mandovi, Zuari.

As per Census 2011, Goa has a total geographical area of 3,702 square kilometres, including 2,937 square kilometres of rural area and 765 square kilometres of urban area.

The state has a unicameral legislature with 2 Lok Sabha seats, 1 Rajya Sabha seat, 40 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Bombay High Court. Goa shares borders with Karnataka, Maharashtra.
