Hisar is an administrative district in Haryana, India. The district is located about 190 km from Chandigarh, the capital of Haryana. Its administrative headquarters is in Hisar. Hindi and Haryanvi are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,983 km², including 3,835.53 km² of rural area and 147.47 km² of urban area.
