Jamtara District, Jharkhand

Jamtara District is an administrative district in the state of Jharkhand, India. It is situated about 230 km from Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand. The district headquarters is located at Jamtara. Hindi, Santhali and Bengali are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 1,811 km², including 1,778.95 km² of rural area and 32.05 km² of urban area.
