Idukki District, Kerala

Idukki District is an administrative district in the state of Kerala, India. It is situated about 195 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala. The district headquarters is located at Painavu. Malayalam and Tamil are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 4,356 km², including 4,320.57 km² of rural area and 35.43 km² of urban area.
