Ernakulam District, Kerala

Ernakulam is an administrative district in Kerala, India. The district is located about 200 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. Its administrative headquarters is in Kakkanad. Malayalam and English are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,063 km², including 2,137.74 km² of rural area and 925.26 km² of urban area.
