Ernakulam District, Kerala

Ernakulam District is an administrative district in the state of Kerala, India. It is situated about 200 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala. The district headquarters is located at Kakkanad. Malayalam and English are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,063 km², including 2,137.74 km² of rural area and 925.26 km² of urban area.
