Ratnagiri

Ratnagiri is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Ratnagiri is 8,208 km² including 8,089.83 km² rural area and 118.17 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Ratnagiri has a population of 16,15,069 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,63,723 while rural population is 13,51,346. Ratnagiri has a sex ratio of approximately 1121 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 196.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,97,115 houses in the district, including 61,797 urban houses and 3,35,318 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,531 villages in ratnagiri district.
