East Garo Hills District, Meghalaya
East Garo Hills is an administrative district in Meghalaya, India. The district is located about 230 km from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Its administrative headquarters is in Williamnagar. Garo (Achik) and Assamese are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 2,603 km², including 2,578.46 km² of rural area and 24.54 km² of urban area.
