East Garo Hills District, Meghalaya
East Garo Hills District is an administrative district in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is situated about 230 km from Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya. The district headquarters is located at Williamnagar. Garo (Achik) and Assamese are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 2,603 km², including 2,578.46 km² of rural area and 24.54 km² of urban area.
