South Garo Hills District, Meghalaya

South Garo Hills District is an administrative district in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is situated about 300 km from Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya. The district headquarters is located at Baghmara. Garo (Achik) and Bengali are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 1,887 km², including 1,878.20 km² of rural area and 8.80 km² of urban area.
