West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya

West Jaintia Hills is an administrative district in Meghalaya, India. The district is located about 65 km from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Its administrative headquarters is in Jowai. Pnar (Jaintia) and Khasi are the major languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 3,819 km², including 3,811.00 km² of rural area and 8.00 km² of urban area.
