West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya

West Jaintia Hills District is an administrative district in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is situated about 65 km from Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya. The district headquarters is located at Jowai. Pnar (Jaintia) and Khasi are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 3,819 km², including 3,811.00 km² of rural area and 8.00 km² of urban area.
