Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 500 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Coimbatore. Tamil is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 4,732 km², including 3,103.88 km² of rural area and 1,628.12 km² of urban area.
